Golf Lessons & Coaching for Juniors

Golf is an incredible sport for children of all ages, girls and boys, to take up and enjoy throughout their life.

It teaches discipline, competitiveness, teamwork, and frequently how to lose gracefully! Golf also promotes regular exercise in a healthy outdoor environment, and provide a completely safe environment in beautiful surroundings.

SBG offer award-winning lessons and coaching for juniors aged 4-18, both individually or as part of a group, at our facilities in Belton Park Golf Club near Grantham. Shay originally designed his junior programme in 2007 and has been improving it ever since. He always uses the latest research and communicates with the most forward thinking minds in the field, which saw him literally hop, skip and jump his way into developing a holistic programme that engaged youngsters in activities that weren’t just about golf. The well-being of each child and their individual development and satisfaction is Shay's primary concern.

Shay was the youngest member of the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire (BB&O) County Golf Union Coaching Squad, responsible for the development of the Men’s First and Second teams. This position allowed him to work with the very best golfers within the region, with four players at that time in the National squads, he was able to glean from them their own personal experiences of golf. In October 2007 he was appointed as the Oxfordshire Girls Head Coach, as well as the lead coach for the BB&O under 16 boys squad. He was also a Lead Academy coach for the BB&O Golf Partnership Academy programme holding this position until 2013, despite having relocated to work in his home county of Northamptonshire in 2009 and more recently into Lincolnshire. These positions also allowed him to work with some of the most pro-active coaches in the region too.

Shay is the Head Professional at Belton Park Golf Club in Lincolnshire. He is a fully qualified 'Advanced Professional of The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Member' working towards Master Status. Along with the team at Belton Park, Shay offers the leading teaching facilities and coaching in the region.

Qualified and experienced

Shay is one of the leading PGA coaches in the UK, currently at Advanced level and working towards Master Professional status. He has worked with some of the UK's best amateur golfers, and developed award winning coaching programmes for junior golfers. Shay has been a coach for the BB&O County Golf Union, Head Coach for the Oxfordshire Girl's Team, and Girls Development Coach for Northamptonshire Golf Union. With the rest of the team at SBG, your game is in good hands.
